TERTIARY STUDENTS DRIVE (TertSDrive)

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), as part of strategies being introduced to engender improved services, have come up with a product that involves the issue of a driver's licence to students in all tertiary institutions throughout the country.

The product which is christened Tertiary Students Drive (TertSDrive) seeks to grant opportunity to all students who are willing to acquire a driver's licence to do so in the comfort and convenience of their campuses.

The essence is to make it possible for students who find jobs that would require driving to provide added value and market-focused their driver's licence so they do not lose the job opportunity.

TARGET GROUP:

Students in all tertiary institutions round the country

BENEFITS OF THE PROJECT

Students who enrol onto the project will derive the following benefits:

  • Affordability and accessibility

  • Discount on training

  • Applying and obtaining Learner Driver's Licence on campus

  • On-campus driver training

  • In-traffic test at the nearest DVLA office.

REQUIREMENTS FOR GHANAIAN STUDENTS:

  • Applicant must be eighteen (18) years or above

  • Physically and mentally fit.

  • Must be Ghanaian.

  • Provide national ID card, student ID card or admission letter

  • Enroll under the programme

  • Attend all scheduled programmes

REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-GHANAIAN STUDENTS

  • Applicants must be 18 years or above.

  • Physically and mentally fit to drive.

  • Provide copy of admission letter.

  • Provide a valid passport

  • Provide a Resident Permit

  • Enroll under the programme

  • Attend all scheduled programmes

PROCEDURE

  • Obtain learner licence

  • Pay application fee

  • Undergo training

  • Obtain appointment for theory test

  • Take theory test (70%)

  • Take in-traffic test (70%)

  • Obtain temporary licence

  • Collect licence on scheduled date
