The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) was on Friday honoured at the 10th Marketing World Awards (MWA) 2021, organised by InstinctWave at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.
The award which is Best State Owned Enterprise (SOE) in Customer Experience, is in
recognition of the vision, hard work and collaborative leadership of Management of the Authority to the development of the country.
The award brings to 32, the number of awards received by the Authority in the last four years.
Latest awards received by DVLA include Best use of Information Technology to drive efficiency in service delivery Institution, Public Sector ICT Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the year (2020) to the Chief Executive, Kwasi Agyeman Busia, Excellence in procurement & Supply Chain: (SOE): Silver, Best Public Sector Project of the Year (Smart driver licence card In-house Production) and Africa Top 20 Procurement Leader to Dr. Robert Kweku Tay among others.
In an interview after the awards, the Ag. Director of Finance, Mr. Andrews Denteh indicated that as part of measures to improve customer experience, the Authority continuously explore better ways of delivering its services through the use of modern technology.
He added that DVLA is in the process of digitizing all of its documents as part of measures to upgrade its systems, enhance security and improve revenue mobilization.
The digitization process, he said, would be completed by next year, adding that the data would be shared with the various security agencies to assist in crime investigations.
“We are working to ensure that our documents are digitized so we can share with the security agencies in order to clamp down on people who use vehicles to commit crimes,” he said.
On the award, Mr Denteh said the achievement “confirms the positive transformation that has taken place at DVLA’’.
He said the Authority will continue to implore innovation and the use of state of the art equipment in its service delivery to meet the aspiration of clients.
