DVLA HONOURS HARD WORKING STAFF

Deborah Apraku, a client service officer at the Prestige Centre, DVLA Head Office, has won the Chief Executive’s (CE’s) Excellence Award, for being the best Customer Service staff at the maiden edition of the Customer Service Week (CSW) Celebration which was held at DVLA head office in Accra. The ceremony recognised and celebrated the hard work and dedication of employees who exhibited the core values of the Authority in their line of duty. The citation with her award highlighted her individual performance and ability in her line of work. Other staff and departments across the country were also honoured for their dedication and loyalty to duty. They include; Best Customer Service Staff, Most Customer-focused Office, Most Customer-focused Manager, Best Performing Office, Best Client Service Officer, Best Service Support Team, Most promising Team Leader, Teamwork and Support, Outstanding Leadership, Most Dedicated Team and Best Participating Team in CSW. In an address, the Chief Executive (CE) of DVLA, Mr Kwasi Agyeman Busia, said he was overwhelmed by the outcome of the week-long activities and participation by the various offices across the country, saying, he recalls how he promised the staff of changing the narrative of DVLA from when he assumed office beginning 2017.
He appreciated the teamwork by the staff and urged them to remain united as a family. The Manager of Service Excellence Unit, Mrs. Patience Amoabeng, said the celebration was of great significance to the reforms of the Authority under the leadership of the Board, Management and the Chief Executive. She hinted that in 2021, improvements will be made in focused areas of the Customer Service charter. The Secretary of the DVLA Union Mr. Francis Dunyo, who read a message on behalf of its Chairman said, the Union appreciates the hard work and dedication of the staff and pledge their support to Management to contribute to the achievement of the strategic goals of the Authority. The Chairman of the Awards Committee, Mr. Edmund Cheyuo, commended the award winners and said there are plans of expanding
the awards scheme in the coming years. The celebration was on the theme: “DreamTeam”, which is globally recognised and proclaimed in 1992 by the US Congress and subsequently celebrated annually during the first full week in October where Customer Service and the people who serve and support
customers on a daily basis are recognized.
